Ultimate Health
I have had a book for ages and ages and not really read it. On Saturday morning I decided to stop just using the back section as a reference and to actually read it. The book is called Ultimate Health, Twelve Keys to Abundant Health and Happiness. It is written by Dr John Briffa, a UK doctor who gave up conventional medicine to practise in complementary medicine, incorporating mind, body and spirit. It is great.
The twelve keys are:
1. Give Your Body Oxygen
2. Give Your Body Water
3. Detoxify the System
4. Balance Your Blood Sugar
5. Maintain Thyroid Function
6. Take Exercise
7. Honour Yourself
8. Trust Your Intuition
9. Live in the Moment
10. See Life as a Mirror
11. See the Positive in Everything
12. Be Love
Over the next couple of weeks I will expand on each key and let you know how I am going to apply the principles to my life and health.
On the goals front, Sue has inspired me to put a Brazilian in the mix and I think once I hit the 80's I will take the big step and get one. Scary.
I just did a whole over view of my goals and rewards and Phoebe came up and pressed a button on the keyboard and wiped it all!! Will post again later.

OMG a brazilian??? There is NO WAY I could EVER get one of those! The pain is one thing, but getting someone to put wax all over that part of my body?? ummm hello?? lol
If you can do it, good on you I applaud your efforts :)
Like Lynn, there is no way in hell I'm ever getting a Brazilian! F*#k having someone gawking at me girlie parts, it's bad enough having to put it out there when ya give birth! I might try finding that book in the library, it looks interesting if nothing else. Oh yeah, I can think of much better things to reward myself with than pain and a hairless fanny!
Lol!! Chris is right!! For that kind of pain .... I'd get a tattoo!! At least you've got something to show for your pain!! Your fanny hair will just grow back!! ...
lol ....
C.R.A.Z.Y!! lol
I agree with Lyn and ChrisH I would never get one of those either OUCHHHHH!!!

Oh what a bunch of woossies... haha..
You go girl... Nothing like a bit of pain...
If you really cant stand it you will just end up with one side done and the other all attached.. haha..
bit like a comb over .. haha..
oh just popped in to say hi!!
Just read your life of battling weight... isnt it terrible how we can look back at our past.. and map everything by our weight at the time... sad... but i am sure we can all do it at some stage...
Keep up the gr8 work... you have a brazzilian to aim for...
Trust me, the Brazi is great. And after four kids - the pain will be nothing!
Not rum and coke... its scotch n dry.... yummmm and it is something I havent cut out to lose weight...
Altho i must say i changed from dinking quite regularly... (thru the week) to only fri and/ or sat night... and now buy the bottles and mix with diet dry ( i know terrible stuff) instead of premix cans...But lately ... i have only been having maybe one while we are watching a dvd on a sat night...
getting old...
Sounds good. I wish I could find the positive in everything. I always seem to be grumpy first and then see any bright sides later...
I'd like a Brazillian one of these days but not sure my skin could cope with it. It's so sensitive. I had a normal bikini wax before our last sun holiday (Tunisia in October last year) and I ended up with lots of red spots. I had thought I might avoid those with waxing. I get them bad if I try to shave although my electric shaver is okay. Trust me, you don't want an ingrown hair down there!
You asked how I manage to exercise on such low calories - the funny thing is I don't feel lacking in energy. I think the 5km I did was probably slower than usual but I felt great at the end of it. I don't know how that works but it does.
